A Beautiful Gift!!

Mama has been wanting us to do this post for a couple of weeks but we haven't been able to come up with the words for a proper thank you...

We got a wonderful gift in the mail a couple of weeks ago.  Mama opened it and inside was just the most beautiful item.  It was a quilt in memory of Yoda.  Not only did we get a quilt, but a donation was also made in Yoda's name to Kentuckiana Pug Rescue.

Here is a picture of the whole quilt...

and close ups of the pictures...  We love that our original blog header photo was included.

We just love the colors of the quilt.  Mama said that Yoda was her boy in blue and loves all the blue that was  included.

Yoda was an avid Patriots fan just like mama, so the backing of the quilt was done in New England Patriots fabric.  The back also included the list of everyone that contributed...

A big thank you to everyone, you can't imagine how much this means to us.  We do apologize for taking so long to thank everyone.  The memory quilt is wonderful and we will treasure it always!!!!

Belated Blogoversary

We just realized that we missed our blogoversary!!  We have been blogging since June 4, 2009.   That's 3 whole years!!  Can you believe it!

During this time we have met so many amazing bloggers - several in person, which is pawsome!

We have experienced good times and bad.  Since our last blogoversary - there have been a couple of significant events.

Ellie celebrated her first birthday with a blowout bash.

Ellie also graduated from PetSmart Advanced Education

Brutus has learned to find the most comfortable napping spots

Yoda, who was the chief pawditor of this blog, made his journey across the Rainbow Bridge and now resides there with many of our furiends.  We got a very special gift in the mail last week in memory of Yoda - we will share it with you sometime this week.

Of course in May, Ellie got to go with Mom to Milwaukee PugFest (Mom has promised that both Ellie & I get to go next year!) and Ellie had her 1000 Pugs Photo Shoot while in Milwaukee as well!

We never imagined that we would meet so many new friends through this little blog.  This blogger community laughs together and mourns together.  It is amazing to see the outpouring of support when a blogger friend is in need.

We LOVE you ALL!!

Here's to many more years of blogging ahead of us!!

Pugs & Kisses,

Brutus & Ellie

A Round of PBR Please...

We learned the sad news this morning that our furiend Hank crossed the bridge.  Now, I only met him a few times - he was one heck of a guy.  Brutus knew him better and he is going to take over this post.

I Tell Ya What - I will never hear this phrase and not think about Hank.  Hank was a great puggy furiend.  Always quick with a joke, a story and a smile.  I am honored to have been his furiend.

Please raise your PBR in honor of our buddy.  You will be missed dearly Hank!

1000 Pugs!

Hard to believe it has been two weeks since we made the trek to Milwaukee for PugFest!!  What I didn't tell you yet is that the Monday after PugFest was my supermodeling debut!!  Yes, I am pug #439 for the 1000 Pugs photoshoot!!

We got up bright and early and made our way to the north side of Milwaukee and to Lake Park .  We got notice that the photoshoot would be taking place at North Point Lighthouse.  Mom was ecstatic about this since she loves lighthouses!!

A couple of pics of Lake Michigan

Mia and her mama :)

The one and only Puglet!!  He showed off some of his modeling skills....  He is sooo handsome!!

Kiki, Puglet & Myself

I have to admit that I was a bit starstruck by Puglet...

Just look at him - he had caught sight of his human and was watching her intently.

A picture of the lighthouse from the back.

Tiffy's mom was there too, but mom didn't get any photos with her.

It was finally my turn to show off my super-modeling skills.  Now, mom may tell you that I barked non-stop while Miss Amanda was taking pictures of me...  I will tell you that I was just trying to tell Miss Amanda how excited I was to be part of this project!!

Miss Amanda taking pics...

The only place I would stay put was right between mom's legs.  I know that mom didn't want to be left out, so I made sure that at least her legs would be in the photos...

A big thank you to Miss Amanda and Puglet for making this experience such a great one!!

Alas, my photo-shoot was over way too soon and it was Mia's turn for the photo-shoot.

While we waited, mom and I wandered around and she took photos.

Mom just loves this one she took with the sun behind the lighthouse.

We also took some more time to visit with Puglet

I tried to get him to notice me, but I think I just may be too young for him...

Puglet did seem to like my mama...  he sat on her lap for a bit and just chilled.

Look at my excitement about getting to sit with Puglet on mama's lap!

A little bit about the lighthouse.

Mom just loves these two pics of the lighthouse.  She wants to have one or both of them framed.

Mia posing with one of the lions

My turn :)

We had a fantastic time and can hardly wait to see the results of my photo-shoot.  In the meantime, I will be dreaming about handsome Puglet...
