Vet Visit

Hey there everyone, Brutus here.  Yoda's nail is doing better, but he didn't feel like blogging today so I am doing it for him.

I had my yearly vet visit yesterday and I am happy to say I am a svelte 26.4 pounds.. down a pound from last year :)  After some discussion with mom & dad, the vet thinks I may have a bit of an allergy causing me to lick on my legs.  She prescribed benadryl for me twice a day - I get a yummy treat when I get my medicine so I don't care (as long as there is food involved I am happy).

Here I am at the vet's office in the exam room.

Yoda went along for moral support (that and mom wanted the vet to check his nail to to be sure there wasn't anything else that needed to be done - the vet said the quick on his nail is scabbing up and appears to be healing). He was watching the door waiting for the vet.

The vet's office is just a few minutes from the house and luckily we weren't there for very long so we weren't gone from home for very long.

It was cold and snowy outside yesterday so we had to snuggle together for warmth - you would have thought mom or dad would have put the blanket over us, but no all mom did was go and get the camera all the while mumbling about how cute we were being....hey lady, we are COLD - turn up the heat!! (Yoda is on the left, I am on the right)

Hope everyone out there is staying warm....can't wait for this cold weather to be over with.  Is it spring yet?

Post Christmas Report

Hope everyone out there had a good Christmas and got everything they wanted!  We got nyla bones, new stuffies and some new tennis balls (which are really more for Brutus because he is crazy about them).  Mom couldn't find the camera at the time, so no pictures of us with our gifts :(

We didn't get to go with Mom & Dad for Christmas since a couple of our human cousins are allergic to dogs.  Mom promised us some cookies when they got home.  Peanut butter cookies are the best!

Check out all of the cookies that mom made

See me helping Dad opening one of his presents.

I gave equal time and helped mom too.  Here she is with the cool new iPod touch that dad got for her.

Well, last night when Dad came in from taking us outside, he noticed some little spots of blood on the carpet.  I won't tell him or Mom how it happened, but I tore one of my front nails off exposing the quick.  I was really quiet when it happened (I am a tough little pug!).

Anyway, Mom & Dad stopped by the vet this morning and gave them some antibiotics to prevent infections.  The vet said just to keep an eye on it and make sure it stays clean and dry.  I am doing much better tonight, but mom needs some ideas on protecting my nail from the elements when going outside.

Just a note for the squeamish - the following pictures are of my nail.

Brutus curled up by me - see me in the background

Other than the nail incident, we all had a very nice Christmas.

Merry Christmas

We would like to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas.  If you don't celebrate Christmas, we would like to wish you Happy Holidays!

Our Christmas wish is for a full food bowl for everyone, animal and human alike.

Of course in this picture, Brutus is wishing for a bowl full of food for himself :)

Here I am waiting for Santa Paws.

Getting Ready for Christmas and Paw it Forward

We helped mom & dad finish up the Christmas decorations.

Brutus posing with the tree

Brutus pointing out that there are no presents under the tree...mom said Santa Paws will put presents under the tree but we have to wait until Christmas.

Mom made us wear these Christmas Collars - Here is Brutus proudly modeling his.

Me on the other hand, I refused to look at the camera while wearing it.

Putting on my most pathetic look - notice I still refuse to look at the camera.

On a another note, we are going to do our Paw it Forward.  If you want to play in our Paw it Forward, please send an email to our Mom at cgrieze@comcast.net.  We will accept requests until Friday, 12/18 and then we will pick 3 random names to participate.

Early Morning Walkie - Sort Of

Yoda here, Brutus woke mom up early today so she decided to take us for a early morning walk.

First we checked out some pee mail in our back yard

Brutus

me telling mom how cold it is by holding my paws off the ground

Are you really taking us for a walk mom? It's cold out here!

I wrapped my leash around the mailbox and refused to move.

Seriously, I am not moving until you make a move for that front door.

This is much better!

Weekend Update with Yoda

Hello everyone, Yoda here.  It's been a good weekend.  Mom's birthday was on Saturday and of course we made sure we gave her lots of pug hugs and kisses.  She didn't do too much on her birthday - dad did take her out for a nice lunch.  She keeps saying something about a final project for school that is due next week but she has been working on it all weekend trying to get it finished.  Earlier today she he did finally get all of it done and ready to turn in.  Now she has several weeks off before the next semester starts, Yay!!

Mom says she will help us blog more often than we have been now that she school is over for the semester.  There is going to be so much to blog about in the upcoming weeks and watch for our post for our paw it forward.

Hope everyone has had a great weekend!
