Happiness Amid the Sadness

We are slowly recovering from the loss of Yoda.  Thank you all so much for your support.  It is amazing how the Blog world rallies around those in need.

Despite the heartbreaking loss of Yoda, we need to celebrate a a very special day today.  Brutus' birthday is today and he turned 8 years young today!

Happy Birthday Brutus!!

Since it has been a rough weekend, we took Brutus & Ellie to PetSmart to help Brutus celebrate his birthday.

Ellie was anxious to get going...
"Are we there yet?!"
Brutus was contemplative on the drive over...

Brutus couldn't stop smiling.

Hmmm, should I get this one Ellie?
So many stuffies to choose from!
Brutus did finally pick out a stuffy and will show it to you later.

We had to stop for gas - hey Dad, why did we stop?

Hurry up and fill this beast up and let's go home so I can play with my new toy!

Hey Mom - thanks for the day out!!
I got a new stuffy toy!!
Seriously - aren't you going to throw it?

Yay!!

Brutus had a blast playing with his new stuffy and wore himself out...

Thanks again to all of you - your comforting words have helped us through the last couple of days and will continue to help as we mourn the loss of Yoda.

God Bless...

Southern Fried!

Ellie pawing at the keyboard today to tell you all about the visitors that came through Indy last week...  Southern Fried Pugs!!

Mom loaded just me into the car on Friday morning and off we went to the Pug Posse house.  The boys had to stay at home and take care of dad who was feeling under the weather.

I was so excited to meet Tallulah, Petunia & Isabelle!!  It was kind of hard to tell the difference between Tallulah & Petunia - they look sooooo much alike!!

I believe this is Petunia

The initial meet & greet when the guests arrived.

I was being a bit turdley so Aunt Laura, Salinger's mom, had to have a talk with me....

An assortment of pictures that mom took...  she laments that she didn't get a picture with our special guests all together.

 Southern Fried Pugs Momma...

Aunt Jess was there with Mia too!!

Mia again...

Isabelle - I just love her smile :)

There was lots of pug loving going on!

I am so glad that I got to meet the Southern Fried Pugs and their momma!!  They are all very sweet and I hope I have the chance to meet them again sometime!

Kitty Birthday...

Us puggies would like to wish our kitty brothers, Max & Miko, a very happy birthday today!!

They are true brothers coming from the same litter.  They are turning 11 today...

When mom & dad first moved to Indy, mom didn't have a job and was stuck all day alone.  Dad thought it would be a good idea to get a companion for her and took her to the pet store (just to look...  this was well before mom & dad discovered what puppies and kitties in pet stores go through).

Well they looked around and didn't see any kitties until they got to the front of the store.  There were two black kitties on display at the front of the store.  Mom said she had a hard time trying to pick which one to take and she was sad that one would be left behind (but didn't say anything).  Dad being the good guy that he is picked the second kitty up too.  He said that he couldn't bear to leave one behind all by his lonesome.

Thus Max & Miko found their furever home.  Happy Birthday Max & Miko - you two are the best kitty brothers a pug could ask for!!
